Beautiful surroundings and a welcoming atmosphere.
The lack of cell service and limited WiFi made it challenging to coordinate activities. The eco-friendly shower's low water pressure was disappointing, and the absence of a fridge meant that keeping food and water cool was difficult. Although the remote setting was peaceful, navigating the challenging road to the resort was quite an adventure that added stress to our stay.

Gumbo Limbo Jungle Resort offers an oasis of tranquility, with stunning natural views and friendly hospitality from the owners, Christine and J. They truly go above and beyond to ensure your stay is enjoyable and comfortable.
The steep driveway leading to the resort was quite difficult to navigate with a standard vehicle. I highly recommend having a 4WD to make the drive easier.

stayed for 3 nights and was extremely disappointed with the low pressure shower, truly not what one woudl expect at a resort. also, no fridge in the room? come on! it woudl ve been nice to get some complimentary drinks, but I guess they don't care about comfort, do they? Not impressed at all.

great stay but minor improvements needed
The owners were attentive, making our stay feel welcoming. The pool area offered stunning views, creating a relaxing escape during the afternoons. Dinner the first night exceeded expectations, as the flavors were vibrant and fresh. Additionally, the garden view added a peaceful ambiance to our mornings.
The location was beautiful, though we faced some challenges with the parking situation.

Staying at Gumbo Limbo was an incredibly enjoyable experience. The jungle setting felt like a true escape from everyday life. I loved the charming little cabins that were superbly clean and cozy. The complimentary breakfast featured delicious banana bread and fresh fruits each morning. Dinner was a highlight, with reasonably priced meals packed full of flavor. Meeting other guests added a warm community feel to our stay. Jay and Christine made everyone feel at home, creating a welcoming atmosphere that's hard to find elsewhere. However, the heat was a challenge since the cabin had no air conditioning, only ceiling fans, which struggled to cool the space during the warm days. Proximity to attractions like Big Rock Falls and ATM Cave was fantastic. Be prepared for a bit of adventure getting there, as the road leading up is quite challenging. Overall, this place is a gem for those looking to experience the natural beauty of Belize.

Just a good pick for a break on long journey in Cool Shade with extraordinarily good value for money. The food was surprisingly great, and I really enjoyed trying the local dishes during dinner. Make sure you have a 4WD for the steep driveway up to the resort.
